Football arguments. Clear rules. Your information, explained.

Optional email notifications
If you opt in, we use your verified account email to send the activity updates you choose: voice notes, replies, new followers, new players, custom result confirmation reminders and results. Emails contain names and links, never audio recordings or transcripts. Busy argument updates are bundled; you can choose a daily summary or turn notification emails off. Every notification includes an unsubscribe link. Delivery is handled by Resend when configured. Pending events are kept for up to seven days and delivery records for up to two days. Your preferences remain until changed or your account data is erased. Account security emails are managed separately.
Voice notes
With microphone permission, you can record up to 30 seconds and preview locally before sending. Sent audio, your argument name, reactions and replies are stored and available to the organiser and participants in that argument. One-on-one audio is limited to the two players; group audio is limited to the organiser and participants. Other participants may make their own copies. Audio is removed 24 hours after full-time is confirmed by the match feed; one organiser-pinned receipt can last seven days. When the result cannot be confirmed, recordings expire seven days after upload. Expired audio is immediately unavailable and a scheduled hourly sweep removes stored files and associated note records. You or the organiser can remove a recording sooner. Your browser identifier authorises these actions; clearing it can remove your access. Report abusive audio through the argument support link.
Who we are
Selwin Block is operated by David Yombo. For privacy questions or requests about your information, email hello@selwinblock.co.uk.
What we collect
When you play, we store your chosen name, a browser identifier, arguments, predictions, match details, points and results. If you create an account, we also process your email and account identifier. If you choose to create a social profile, we store your handle, display name, bio, uploaded photo, follows and history visibility preference. Support reports contain the message you send and identifiers needed to investigate it.
Signing in
Accounts are optional for guest play. Signing in lets you save history and use account features. Where enabled, Google or Facebook supplies basic identity information, such as your account identifier, email, name and profile image. We do not receive your Google or Facebook password. Email authentication is handled by Supabase. Existing accounts created through ChatGPT may retain their previous account identifier.
Why we use this information
We use play and account information to provide the features you request, identify your entries, save history and calculate scores. Our lawful basis for these core services is performance of our agreement with you. We use necessary security and support information under our legitimate interests in keeping the service safe, preventing misuse and resolving problems. We may retain information where a legal obligation requires it. If we introduce optional processing that requires consent, we will ask first.
What other people can see
Anyone who receives an argument link may be able to open it and see participant names, predictions, points and results. Links can be forwarded: sharing through WhatsApp does not make the website private. Social profiles and follow relationships can be visible to other visitors. Your profile history visibility setting controls whether other people can view that profile history; it does not remove information from shared arguments or cards. Only upload information you are comfortable sharing. Copies or screenshots saved by others remain outside our control.
Cookies and browser storage
We use a necessary sb_guest cookie to recognise a guest browser and authorise its actions. It lasts up to one year unless you clear it. Authentication cookies, including sb_history_auth and related session cookies, keep you signed in. Clearing cookies may remove access to your guest identity and entries. Blocking necessary cookies can prevent these features from working.
Service providers and sharing
Our hosting uses OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare, including database and image storage. Supabase provides account authentication. Google or Facebook processes sign-in information when you choose that provider. WhatsApp processes messages and links you choose to share there under its own privacy policy. Requests for match information or external team images may disclose connection information, such as your IP address, to their providers. Hosting and authentication providers may also process technical logs to operate and secure their services. We do not sell your personal information.
International processing
Our providers may process information outside the UK. Applicable international transfers require an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards, such as approved contractual protections. Contact us for information about the arrangements relevant to your data.
How long we keep information
We retain account and saved history information while needed to provide your account and the history you choose to keep. Shared argument records remain available while needed for participants to view results, resolve disputes and maintain crew standings. Support and security records are kept only as needed to investigate issues, protect the service or meet legal requirements. Deleting an argument in the admin interface may hide it rather than immediately erase all underlying records. Contact us to request erasure; we assess records separately and explain any justified retention. We do not promise that closing a browser or signing out deletes stored records.
Your choices and rights
You can request access, correction, erasure or restriction of your information, and portability where applicable. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where consent applies, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. Email hello@selwinblock.co.uk to exercise these rights or request account deletion. We may need proportionate identity checks. Rights have legal exceptions, including when a record is needed to protect another person’s rights. You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Scoring and updates
Match data can automatically calculate provisional points and update rankings. These are game features, not decisions about credit, employment or similar significant matters. Custom questions can require participant agreement. Contact us if a result appears wrong. We will update this notice when our practices change and highlight material changes in the service.
