Terms of Service

About Selwin Block

Selwin Block is operated by David Yombo. Contact hello@selwinblock.co.uk for support. These terms cover your use of selwinblock.co.uk. By creating or joining an argument, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not create or join one.

Football arguments, for points

The current service lets you make football predictions against a mate or a group, share links and compare points. It does not accept stakes, hold cash pots or pay cash winnings. Points, rankings and badges have no cash value. Do not use Selwin Block to collect stakes or organise paid betting through the service.

Guest play and accounts

You can play as a guest. An optional account lets you keep history across sessions and use social features. You must have capacity to agree to these terms; if you are under 18, involve a parent or guardian. Keep your login secure, use accurate account details and do not impersonate someone else. Guest access depends on your browser cookie, so clearing it or switching browsers may prevent you managing previous entries.

Creating and joining arguments

One-to-one and group arguments can contain up to five questions, selected from available defaults or written by the organiser. Review the match, questions, scoring and entry deadline before joining. Submit your own predictions and follow the rules shown for that argument. We may prevent changes after the relevant deadline to keep play fair.

Points and results

For supported numerical predictions, an exact number earns 10 points; where the actual number exceeds your prediction, the partial award is 5 points; where the actual number is below your prediction, the award is zero. Other question types use their displayed scoring rules. Live points are provisional and can change after data corrections. Default questions may settle automatically when supported match data is available. Custom questions may need manual confirmation or agreement. Postponements, cancellations, missing data and disputes may require a correction or void result. Report problems through the argument’s support option or by email.

Shared links and friendly banter

Anyone with a shared link may be able to view the argument, and other people may forward it. Share responsibly. Result cards include playful, sometimes strong banter that varies with the outcome. Do not use the service for threats, targeted harassment, hate, unlawful content, impersonation or exposing someone’s private information. Do not post content you lack permission to use. We may remove content or restrict accounts where reasonably necessary to protect people, investigate abuse or comply with law.

Your content

You retain your rights in the questions, names, photos and other content you submit. You give us permission to store, display and process that content as needed to run your arguments, profiles, history and sharing features. This permission does not transfer ownership of your content. You are responsible for the material you submit. Our branding and software remain ours or our licensors’.

Availability and third parties

We aim to keep the service working, but cannot promise uninterrupted access or instant, complete match data. Google, Facebook and WhatsApp are separate services with their own terms. Selwin Block is not endorsed by those services, football clubs or competitions. External data and team marks belong to their respective owners.

Deletion and ending use

You can stop using the service at any time. For account or personal data deletion, email hello@selwinblock.co.uk. Removing a saved item or hiding an argument does not necessarily erase the underlying record or copies other participants have saved. Our Privacy Policy explains how we assess retention and deletion. We may suspend access for a serious breach and will explain the reason where reasonably possible.

Responsibility and your rights

You remain responsible for how you use the service and the content you share. We do not guarantee prediction accuracy or any financial benefit. Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. We remain responsible where the law requires it; these terms do not impose a blanket waiver of your rights.

Changes, complaints and governing law

We may update features and these terms. Material changes will be highlighted before they apply where reasonably possible; changes do not retrospectively remove rights you already have. Contact hello@selwinblock.co.uk first with a complaint. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to mandatory consumer protections and any right to bring proceedings in your home jurisdiction. Last updated: 18 October 2026.
